About Me

Thank you for finding my blog!

I am currently Head of English at a large Hampshire secondary school. I have previously been Assistant Head of English, a Pedagogy Leader and Head of Research. In 2019, my first book was published by Bloomsbury Publishing as part of their CPD series. The book is a guide to how to embed research in your teaching and how to train others in the process.

Other work:

In October 2013 I co-organised and ran the first Teaching and Learning Takeover conference. A conference for teachers from all sectors about the basics of our profession. I organised a further 5 TLT conferences. All were a great success and something I am extremely proud of. Thank you to everyone who took part in these events.

I have been lucky enough to talk at a number of events including teachmeets, the Team English National Conference and PiXL English events. I have spoken about specific areas of pedagogy, leading an English department and Research-informed practice.

I have been blogging about my ideas, thoughts, successful and unsuccessful lessons since 2012 however I paused my blog for a number of years to focus on my own writing and running a large department. I can be found on Twitter on: @MissJLud

  1. Hi Jenn,
I follow your blog and noticed a while ago you showed examples of your new assessment sheets for KS3. I was wondering whether it would be possible to have copies of these as we are still trying to sort ours. We are a middle school with years 6,7 and 8. Many thanks, Mary
